Staxx Burger Chicken and Waffle House in Hamilton

Food was great. The only issue was with the service the waitress decided it was time for us to leave for her own personal reasons she printed our bill without asking then continued to talk and say she had been there since 10 am it's was 8pm also mentioned she had been up since 3 am with her 3 year old child and was tired and couldn't wait to go home. I decided to leave after exchange. Next time I'll pick up my meal and enjoy it at home. Maybe owner should consider hiring staff that aren't rushing guest to leave.

My honest review of this place:My wife found out about this place through "you gotta eat here" and we decided to go.Not sure what the show reviewed but my burger was a huge disappointment. Small, lacked flavor and fries were awful. Luckily their hot sauce on the table was just amazing! Really covered up how bad the burger and fries were. Dessert on the other hand is the only reason I have this place 2 stars. Dessert was amazing! Service was slow at first. About 1 hour to get food, but dessert came in about 5 minutes. Drinks including water are not refilled, had to ask for more everytime. Overall I would not go here again.

It's really unfortunate that a place with such great food has such HORRIBLE service. The owners are great but watch out if you're dealing with one of their rude, incompetent servers. Won't be returning.

The curse of "You Gotta Eat Here" strikes again

VERY disappointed. Have been there numerous times, have taken many people there for the first time, but was very disappointed this time around. Last time wasn't wonderful as it was when they first opened either, but this time was far worse :(Ordered lunch pick-up, chicken & waffles & chicken club w/ fries, both which we've had before and were delicious. Called ahead to pick up at 1pm showed up a couple minutes after that and the food was barely warm already.Fried chicken, there was very little chicken on it to begin with, it was mostly bone and that was overcooked and SOOO salty. The chicken club & fries were also cold and the chicken was overcooked.Real shame to see that the food isn't as good as it was when they first opened but hopefully it'll turn around.

This is a great family restaurant! I have gone in several times with friends and as well as my sister and had great experiences every time. Our personal favourite is the blackened chicken on naan though their waffles and jerk chicken are quite as savory. Management is great and so are the servers! The food does take time, but this is not a fast food restaurant people! Good food takes time!THANK YOU EVERY ONE AT STAXX FOR YOUR AMAZING FOOD AND GREAT SERVICE!

AMAZING food!!!! Chicken was crispy and juicy and not very greasy. The waffles were perfect. I had the jerk chicken and it was delicious as was the mango salsa. The place is small and quaint, well decorated, bright and clean. The prices are fantastic. We ordered 2 entrees plus a kids meal and it was less than $30, AWESOME!! We will be back... ALOT :)

Great service, My favourite is the Jerk Chicken and waffles. I love the bbq sauce because it has a strong flavour to it and the mango salsa adds a sweet combination to top it off! Food can take a bit at some visits but I know it's all made fresh so can't complain at all.. Definitely going back soon.

Great food, when they actually have what you want from their menu. We have come here 5 times in the last 2 months and have been turned away twice, because they failed to update restaurant closures on their website. They have also failed to mention they were out of jerk chicken, after looking at the menu for 10 minutes and ready to place an order. Why wouldn't you mention what wasn't available when seating your customers with the menu?

Fantastic food, good service. We ordered the chicken and waffle sandwich and the jerk chicken and waffles and it was a fantastic meal. Only minor issue is that it took a very long time for our food to arrive. We will definitely be back but make sure you're not starving when you get there.

Great little joint downtown for good simple tasty grub. Not much else to say.

Food is amazing. I can agree with the other comments about the wait time. We were told 20 minutes for takeout and it took 45 minutes. I'd probably never dine in with wait times that long. Best chicken I've had in a long time. I'll continue ordering for takeout just show up a bit later than time told.

Their food is great. The service is horrible. I called 3 days in advance to make a reservation for 14 people. Was told Manager would call me in a couple hours. We had people coming from Toronto and Niagara Falls for our friend's birthday. Manager called an hour before the time we said we would be there. They then told us we would have an hour and a half wait. And then blamed me for missing the call I waited 3 days for and that was the reason we had to wait.

Great fried chicken and tasty burgers. You like either of those food stuffs you'll love the place.

Went there for father's day! First time and the food was amazing. Definitely we will be back.

Been there twice now, their fried chicken and waffles are superb.The burgers are flavorous, but a little dry.

Wow! This place is a hidden gem. We expected a hole in the wall diner type place and instead discovered a gourmet bistro. Prices were fantastic and the food!! I had the jerk chicken waffle sandwich. Sooooo good. The mango salsa on it was delicious! Will recommend and visit again!
